Meet Corinne Niessner & Learn How to Knit For Your Dog!

Tuesday June 9th, 6 - 8 pm Marin Fiber Arts is delighted to welcome Corinne Niessner, author of Doggie Knits: Sweaters and Accessories for Your Best Friend. Corinne will be here on Tuesday, June 9th from 6-8 pm talking about her book, showing the great projects and answering all your questions about the many techniques she uses to create sweaters, hats, collars and more for your pooch! ItÕs a great opportunity to work with multiple colors, explore shadow knitting, conquer mitered squares, and become the expert on shaping! YouÕll even learn the way to measure your dog to ensure the perfect fit. We will have copies of the book for sale during the event. Please join us for this fun evening!

Knit One Below Knitalong (FREE)

Sundays May 27, 24, 31, June 7, 21, 10:30 am - Noon (Drop In)

Curious about the new knitting technique featured in the fabulous new book "Knit One Below"? This is your chance to learn the technique on an easy project... the "Inside Outside Scarf." It requires two balls of self-striping yarn. Knitting with only one color at a time, create amazing vertical stripes in a scarf that will look unlike anything else you've ever made! This is not a structured class but a free drop-in clinic. All we ask is that you buy your yarn from us and you can drop in at any time to learn the technique, learn how to fix mistakes, or just work on your "knit one below" project. You may attend only one session to learn the technique or attend as many as you like to get help along the way! Pre-registration is not necessary.

Aurora Yarns Spring Trunk Show & Wine Tasting

Saturday May 30th, 11 am - 4 pm Every Spring, Frederikka presents a fashion show at Marin Fiber Arts. We've decided to add a fun twist to her event: a wine tasting and trunk show! Wines appropriate to summer drinking will be on hand in addition to light hors d'oeuvres courtesy of San Rafael Joe's Restaurant. Sip wine and preview flirty tops, tantalizing tunics, breezy tanks, and adorable accessories knitted and crocheted with this season's hottest yarns! Curious about linen and bamboo blends? Now is your change to see these tantalizing yarns worked up into actual garments! Patterns and yarns will be available for sale - and yarns will be 15% off during the show! We'll also be drawing names to give away free bags of yarn!

Cash for Stash

Are you like many of us, obsessed with yarn with your closet(s) overflowing with skeins, balls, and hanks that you may never use in this lifetime? Perhaps you're feeling a little guilty about yarn you collected in your early days before your yarn vocabulary included the words squishy, sproingy, delicious, luscious, or yummy? In other words, you probably have perfectly good yarn hanging out at home that you'd rather not think about. What to do? Bring it in during our Cash For Stash event. For every pound of yarn you bring in you will receive a $5 store credit which can be used for all in-store merchandise! The maximum you may donate is 5 pounds of yarn, and you must redeem your credit the same day of your visit. We will be donating all yarn to a local retirement community.

The Knitting Doctor On the Mend!

Bobbie Teather, our knitting teacher, is currently recovering from knee surgery and is therefore currently "offline" from teaching; we hope to have her back very soon! Stay tuned to the class schedule which will be updated as soon as we know her new schedule.

Charity Knit Night (ongoing) FREE

Every first Tuesday of the month, 7 - 9 pm Tuesdays June 2nd, July 7th

Starting in June Charity Knit Night is taking on a new challenge! We will be knitting squares for a Warm Up America! afghan. Forty-nine 7 x 9 inch patches makes a whole blanket. Can we do it? Yes we can! The squares knit up quickly. It's a fun way to practice new stitches. Hopefully by the end of the summer we'll have enough knit to sew them all together and send them on their way to Warm Up America!, who will distribute the afghan to a person or family in need. Please join us Tuesday evening, June 2nd, from 7 to 9. It may be hot outside but the cool thing is to knit for charity.Please join us! (PS: We have air conditioning!)

Knit Night is offline for the summer months. In the meantime, visit us on Thursday evenings at the Downtown San Rafael Farmers Market where we have a table right on Fourth Street in front of the plaza.

Class materials must be purchased at Marin Fiber Arts. Payment of class fee required to guarantee spot in class. If you cancel at least a week before class begins, a full refund will be given. No refunds for cancellation thereafter. If Marin Fiber Arts/instructor cancels a class, a full refund will be issued.
